Four Gym Mistakes You May Be Making
It’s time to redirect the focusing.
Lessons learned with Brinley Barton
1. Resistance vs cardio.
Talking about getting the most exercise bang for your fat loss buck!!
Lifting weights may burn less calories than running, yes, BUT the muscles you build because of strength training are going to burn more calories at rest.
So all in all resistance training (lifting weights) should be the focus of your exercise plan.
Lifting helps you build and maintain muscle while dieting, which means most, if not all, of the weight you lose, comes from fat.
2. Calories not carbs.
Calorie intake is the main driver of weight loss regardless of how “hard you exercise”.
Deciding to eliminate carbs may inadvertently put you in a calorie deficit, but unless you can see yourself eating that way for the rest of your life, it’s not worth doing.
3. Consistency over perfection.
Expect perfection, and you’ll set yourself up for failure.
Progress doesn’t require perfection.
