External Views Won’t Make You a Dime In medium

Here’s why.

If you are new to this platform, this is probably one of the most important pieces of information that you need to keep in mind.

You don’t need “viral articles” in order to make money. Obtaining thousands of views is really not that important.

You do need to have paying members from Medium reading your stories, and you accomplish that by providing valuable content.

This month, for instance, I submitted the following two pieces to ILLUMINATION.

Even though one article got more reads and views than the other one, the latest post was the one that generated me more money.

As you can see, My new favorite money saving strategy post had 226 views, 56 reads, and it generated: 0,44 cents.

This is why:

— 86% of the traffic was external and 14% was internal. I got my 0,44 cents only from that 14% of internal traffic.
